NoStigmas fills the void that exists between crisis care and traditional mental health care by providing access to the support and information people need to help themselves and their loved ones in conjunction with, and supplemental to, doctor-assisted treatment plans. All NoStigmas’ resources and services are free and available to anyone regardless of age, income, ethnicity, creed, gender, orientation or location. The program was designed to be easily replicable and serviced by a small 100% volunteer staff, supported by a diverse Board of Directors, a knowledgeable Wellness Advisory Council and robust online tools.
Our methodology is to recruit and train volunteers to act as resource coaches and peer supporters to those in need. In this way, our potential impact is limited only by our ability to effectively recruit and train volunteers. In addition, NoStigmas further raises awareness of stigmas, mental illness and suicide through community events and social media.
